Train to Pakistan

Somewhere I heard this novel is an Indian Classic, wanted to read since long time, finally got a chance to read in 2021 summer. Train to Pakistan- also explains us the political situation those days just after Independence in India, what partition did to border states, how people considers the freedom. As per the Author, through few characters, Independence got only benefitted few Indian corporates, business got transferred from Britishers to Corporate Indians, but rural people, farmers and workers situation got worsen those days, as they felt they didn’t get fair share from Corporate Indians. You will find, Partition took lot of innocent lives on both the sides, and surprisingly you will observe many things were still same since then and now, like how people practice religion blindly, the police abuse on public, and fear in common people. The novel exemplifies the friendship between religions at the end, touches your heart.
