Description:

isvaraḥ paramaḥ kṛṣṇaḥ

sac-cid ananda-vigrahaḥ

anadir ādir govindaḥ sarva-kāraṇa-kāraṇam

Krishna, who is known as Govinda, is the Supreme Godhead. He has an eternal, blissful spiritual body. He is the origin of all. He has no other origin, and He is the prime cause of all causes.

Sripad Adi Shankara conveys a profound truth about the nature of significant achievements, such as accumulating wealth, gaining power, acquiring knowledge, and building a good reputation. He explains that these accomplishments have little real value unless one recognizes that the ultimate source of all prosperity and abundance, called aiswarya, is Lord Govinda. Furthermore, he stresses that the soul or individual originates from the spiritual body of Lord Govinda, emphasizing the interconnectedness of all beings with the Supreme Lord. This insight is vital because it shifts focus from temporary worldly successes to a deeper understanding of spiritual reality. In light of this, Shankara advocates the practice of devotional service to Krishna, which not only helps foster a personal connection with Govinda but also offers a sense of purpose and fulfillment beyond material pursuits. By dedicating oneself to such service, individuals can align their lives with eternal values of devotion, ultimately leading to a life full of cognizance, bliss, and immortality. This perspective clarifies the importance of Lord Krishna and explains why Sripada urged every ignorant person, calling them 'mudamate,' to seek refuge in the Supreme Lord Govinda. Anyone who ignores Sripad Adi Shankara's guidance is openly challenging his spiritual authority as an Acharya. As a result, their admiration for Sripada is simply seen as hypocrisy.
