Bookflow.in is an online platform where individuals can buy and sell legally owned used books. We do not host, reproduce, scan, store, or distribute any copyrighted digital content. All product listings are created by users, and Bookflow.in acts only as an intermediary under the applicable laws of India.

If you believe your copyrighted work has been infringed by a user-generated listing, you may submit a takedown request using the process below.

1. Our Role as an Intermediary

Bookflow.in does not upload or display any copyrighted material such as PDFs, scans, or digital copies.
We only display:

  • User-submitted text descriptions

  • Photographs of physical books uploaded by sellers

  • Contact and listing details for resale purposes

Under the first-sale doctrine (Section 14 of the Copyright Act, 1957), individuals in India have the right to sell physical books they have legally purchased. Resale of genuine physical books does not require permission from the copyright owner.

2. If You Believe a Listing Violates Copyright

If you think a user listing includes unauthorized digital content or violates copyright in any way, you can send a takedown notice to us.

Your notice must include:

  1. Identification of the copyrighted work you believe is infringed

  2. The exact URL of the listing

  3. Your full legal name and contact details

  4. A statement that you believe, in good faith, that the use is not permitted by the copyright owner

  5. A statement that the information you provide is accurate

Send all notices to:

Email: saransh@bookflow.in
Subject: DMCA Takedown Request

We will review your request and may disable or remove the listing after verification.

3. Counter Notifications (For Sellers)

If your listing was removed due to a complaint and you believe the takedown was made in error, you can submit a counter-notification.

Your counter notice should include:

  • The URL of the removed listing

  • A brief explanation of why the listing is not infringing

  • Your name, address, and confirmation that you legally own the physical book you are selling

  • A statement declaring the notice is truthful

Once we receive your counter notice, we may restore the listing unless the original complainant provides a valid legal order within the required timeframe.

4. Misuse of the DMCA Process

Bookflow.in takes false and misleading takedown notices seriously.

Submitting incomplete, incorrect, or abusive copyright claims may result in:

  • Rejection of the claim

  • Suspension of notice privileges

  • Requirement of a court order for future actions

  • Reporting to relevant authorities or the hosting provider

We reserve the right to independently evaluate any claim before action.

5. No Digital Content is Hosted

To clarify:

  • Bookflow.in does not host ebooks, scanned books, PDFs, or any copyrighted digital files

  • We do not sell or distribute coaching material or institutional study material

  • We only enable resale of physical books already purchased by users

If you believe a listing contains unauthorized digital files, please provide explicit evidence in your notice.

6. Commitment to Compliance

We respect creators’ rights and also protect the rights of individuals to resell physical goods they legally own.
Our process is designed to handle valid complaints while preventing misuse of DMCA mechanisms.
