Safety Tips
Almost everyone on BookFlow is a student, parent or reader who simply wants to pass on a book. A few people try scams. These tips keep you safe.
Never scan a QR code to receive money
To receive money you never need to scan anything or enter your UPI PIN. If a “buyer” sends you a QR code or a link to “receive payment”, it is a scam. Stop chatting and report them.
Never pay in advance
Pay only when you have the book in your hands. Don’t pay a “token amount”, a delivery charge or a “refundable deposit” to hold a book.
Never share OTPs or documents
BookFlow will never ask for an OTP, your password or a payment to “release” a book or verify your account. Don’t send photos of your Aadhaar, PAN or bank card to anyone.
Meet in a public place
Meet at a college gate, a metro station, a café or a busy market, in daylight. Bring a friend if you can, and tell someone where you are going.
Check the book before you pay
Look at the edition, the pages and any highlighting. If it isn’t what the ad said, it’s fine to say no.
Courier only with people you trust
If you live far apart, agree on everything in BookFlow Chat first. Ask for a video call or extra photos, and prefer cash on delivery.
Report anything strange
Use “Report this ad” on the book page, or the report option in chat. We review every report and remove fake ads and accounts.
